fitted recycled jacket

6-30 fitted jacket.jpg

This used to be a tablecloth, can you imagine?

I love the simplicity of the design and it’s the type of jacket you’ll end up wearing over anything. There is a paisley design I cant’ really se in the pictures, but the listing says it’s there.

The lining is recycled too, wit ha vintage sheet, so it’ll be plenty soft.

It’s a gorgeous look and will be great to throw over a cute dress when the temperature drops at night.

Roughly size 8. $89

hemp: hempress dress by patagonia

7-1 patagonia hemp dress.jpg

A perfect dress for summer. Made by the awesome Patagonia, I like the ruffle at the bottom is a great detail to a otherwise plain dress.

It’s made of hemp and recycled polyester (not quite sure what it’s recycled from, anyone have an idea?) so it’s soft and breathable. Plus, a often neglected part, those spaghetti straps are adjustable. I have a super short waist, so I appreciate that.

In silver, navy and brown. sizes 2-14 $120

golf gear: lela designs

I do not golf, but I will admit there is a intense lack of eco-friendly gear for athletes in general. While you can find plenty of yoga clothing that is green, it’s hard to find stuff for golfers and tennis players.

Enter Lela Designs, a Canadian company with a serious love of the preppy and eco-friendly. In addition to golf stuff you’ll find the general American Prep Vibe in this line.

Tina Hofer, the designer, founded the line in 2006. The line supports Camfed (the Campaign for Female Education), which works against poverty in rural Africa by empowering young women.

6-26 lela3.jpg

Everything you see here is made out of bamboo, organic cotton or recycled PET. The combination of the fabrics leaves you with a cloth that is naturally wicking, antibacterial and cool.

This is a fiercely feminine line that will probably have a piece or two for everyone. I don’t really do shorts or capris (even though I think they’re incredibly well-designed), but the tops are gorgeous.

good idea: find your warmth

7-1 merrell gatherer coat.jpg

image: inhabitat

With this Merrell jacket, you can stuff yourself . . . literally.

The jacket is translucent and lets you stuff it with any sort of insulation material you come across, from the shredded bills in your trash to the leaves you find on your hike.

I wonder if you found some bright fabric shreds, if that would look all pretty and slightly colorful.

$99

upcycled cowboy shirt

6-30 upcycled shirt.jpg

Plaid shirts. They are my soft spot, since I embraced the grunge trend as a kid like it was my own creation.

Now, I tend to wear my plaid under tube tops or as a loose J. Crew but cooler look.

This great top is made of recycled plaid cowboy shirts. I don’t know what could be more awesome.

Measures 18″ across shoulders, 40″ at the bust, and 30″ long.

$58

perfume oil by sage

6-26 sage oil.jpg

I need to divert from fashion for a sec to show you guys this all natural perfume I found courtesy of Love it a Lot.

Sage Perfumes come in a lot of birthstone scents, which totally tickles me happy. I was born in February and I love my birthstone, amethyst. It’s so gorgeous. Even more gorgeous, read the description of the Sage Amethyst perfume oil:

Amethyst: (Birthstone for February) A fragrance that is at once delicate and hypnotic, Amethyst is inspired by that deep purple stone that has long been associated with the spiritual realm and inner peace. This scent’s dreamy harmony of purple flowers – lilac, violet and freesia – is supported by a note of creamy gardenia. These rest on a base accord of sheer, watery musks and orris, which is the root of the iris flower. Wearing Amethysts is said to encourage gentleness – a quality that is enchantingly expressed by this innocent yet intoxicating fragrance.

I would like a bunch of this stuff now, especially since it’s got nothing but natural scents in it.

1/8 oz. roll-on. $45

vegan motorcycle jacket

6-24 motorcycle jacket.jpg

It is not the right season, but I’m still searching for a motorcycle jacket.

I love this one at Thrashin’ Threads. It’s totally faux leather and lined with pretty green plaid.

I assume since it’s faux leather that it might be plastic/oil-derived, but you can only win so many battles, eh?

$80

gypsum dress

6-24 ecoskin dress.jpg

Gotta wedding to go to? This dress by EcoSkin has great potential. You can throw a cardigan over it if it’s a day wedding and show yourself off later. I love the back, it looks so prim in the front!

Made of bamboo, tencel and spandex, so it’ll be the comfiest dress you own.

$152 Extra small to large. Black, greengage and hot pink available.
